1. Shock absorber Fig.5 (56) is not checking enough, Loosen pipe plug on top of the shock and check oil upply. If oil is low, refill with SAE 10 oil. Replace pipe plug and test press closing. If press continues to slam djust crew "z" by loosening the jam nut and turning screw in, (clock wise ) one complete turn. Test closing and repeat again if necessary until effect is obtained. Retighten jam nut when finished.

    2. If head still slams after checking the shock absorber, adjust the closing cylinder speed control to give slightly slower close. Speed control valve(12) is located on right hand side of press. Turn hand in (clock wise pproximately turn). Test closing.
